Los Angeles County is the most populous county in US, with approximately 10 million population and county seat the City of Los Angeles. With such major tourist attractions like Universal Studios in Hollywood, South Beach and Placerita Canyon State Park, Los Angeles County is the place to be. Swim at one of the many Malibu beaches, stroll along the Santa Monica pier or head to San Diego where you can enjoy the rides of Belmont Amusement Park along the boardwalk at Mission Beach. The county was one of the original counties of California, created at the time of statehood in 1850. The main industries of Los Angeles County are international trade, motion picture and television program production, music recording and production, aerospace and professional services. Griffith Park is the county's most visited park. Each year, the county holds the Rose Parade in Pasadena and the annual Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona. Other places of interest include the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Los Angeles Zoo, the Natural History Museum, the La Brea Tar Pits and the Arboretum of Los Angeles. The county is home to many prestigious colleges and universities. It also has a large number of public school districts and private schools.
