Located in the Central Valley in California, Kings County was established in 1893 with a county seat Hanford. The county’s name comes from Kings River, discovered in 1806 by an expedition led by Spanish Army Lieutenant Gabriel Moraga and named Rio de los Santos Reyes (River of the Holy Kings). Its primary source of economy is agriculture. Kings County is home to NAS Lemoore - the U.S. Navy's newest and largest master jet air station. Places of interest in the county include El Adobe de los Robles Historic Park, Mill Creek, Burris Park and Richland Farms Camp. The county’s population is almost 150,000.
